Porthmeor beach
A large wide sandy beach on the Western side of St Ives. The beach is overlooked by the Tate St Ives. With a restaurant, café, shop and toilets it is well facilitated and well looked after.

It is a popular surfing spot it work well with the out going tide southerly, south-westerly and south-easterly. The boiler (close to the island) works at low tide and when the swell is really big you can surf Fox Holes situated to the side of Clodgy Point. The swell size starts working at 1.0m-1.5m / 3ft-5ft and holds up to 3m+ / 10ft+ and is consistent (150 day/year)
